How do I update the status of a work order and add completion records?
Users with the appropriate permissions can update a work order as maintenance work progresses.
To update a work order:
- Open the relevant work order.
- Review the reported issue, location, priority, and assigned work.
- Select the appropriate status, such as In Progress, Pending, or Completed.
- Add notes describing the work performed.
- Record any parts, materials, or equipment used, where applicable.
- Upload photographs showing the completed work or current condition.
- Enter any follow-up action required.
- Save or submit the update.
Before marking a work order as completed, confirm that:
- The reported issue has been resolved.
- The affected equipment or facility has been tested where necessary.
- Completion notes have been entered.
- Supporting photographs have been uploaded if required.
- No further follow-up work is outstanding.
Some work orders may require supervisor review or approval before they are officially closed.
